Your New Role
As the Vice President, Industrial Development, this individual will play a pivotal leadership role in the Ontario office.
Responsibilities include:
Managing Development Opportunities: Overseeing the entire process from conception to purchaser/tenant turnover for industrial projects in Ontario.
Facilitating Municipal Approvals: Leading the municipal approval process to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Due Diligence Leadership: Conducting thorough reviews of land and building acquisitions, including the assessment of development proformas and legal contracts.
Consultant Engagement: Overseeing the engagement of consultants and collaborating with the existing team to facilitate development applications and maintain relationships with municipal officials.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:
Experience with Municipal Processes: Familiarity with the rezoning, subdivision, Site Plan Approval, and Building Permit processes across various municipalities.
Development Expertise: A proven background as a development professional in land and building acquisition, with experience in reviewing proformas for selling and leasing commercial properties.
Knowledge of Regulations: Strong understanding of the Ontario building code and legal contracts, along with experience working with municipal departments for rezoning and site plan applications.
Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a senior development executive, with a track record of managing multiple concurrent projects.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities, combined with proven presentation experience within a senior-level management group.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook, with preferred knowledge of Yardi and P6 Scheduling.
Advocacy Experience: Experience in government advocacy, either directly or through industry associations.
