Our client is a leading Utiltiies firm looking to hire Technical Consultants for a 1-year hybrid contract role.

Your new role

• Lead in designing and specifying technical solutions for strategic IT projects, considering business requirements, IT standards, security, integration and infrastructure
• Lead vendors, internal developers and system administrators and drive all technical activities pertaining to the project
• Produce target state solution architectures, perform architectural assessment and gap analysis and help formulate the overall solution strategy and roadmap
• Defining application, data, integration and infrastructure architectures to enable solutions
• Produces Technical solutions considering reliability, availability, capacity, performance and security requirements
• Work with IT security architect and operation teams and vendors to ensure security standard & compliance of the products and solutions implemented.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to transition the designs to implementation teams and external vendors
• Works in partnership with IT Client Consultant in determining technical options / solutions to meet business needs.
• The candidate is expected to identify business requirements, propose solution alternatives, document and communicate solutions, identify interfaces, understand infrastructure requirements, develop complex application codes, assess and resolve security risks, conduct integration testing and performance testing, and deliver projects on time and on budget. It is expected the candidate has the patience and communication skills to work with all levels of business and IT staff.
• Installs, configures, maintains, enhances Information Technology systems software and hardware in accordance with corporate and security standards, for defined area of expertise
• Supports Information Technology System testing, deployment and upgrade activities
• Proactively identifies problems and opportunities for improvement of project delivery, IT Services, systems or processes
• Troubleshoots and maintains IT assets to improve reliability, including capacity, response to incidents and issues resolution, life cycle management/refresh and performance.

What you'll need to succeed

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science / Engineering, or other relevant professional designation
• Over 8-10 years of progressive experience in a senior technical capacity, preferably as solution architect
• Ability in diagnosing complex problems and providing detailed analysis and derive recommendations based on various perspective and options
• Must have experience in analyzing business and technology requirements to design and build scalable enterprise applications that adhere to IT & Security standards
• Must have experience in providing solutions integrating out-of-the-box products
• Must have experience in development in MOST of the following technologies : J2EE, SAP Data Services, Reporting tools, .NET, database stored procedure, ETL/ELT tools, CDC tools, front end, Oracle Spatial, complex SQLs, data modelling, Oracle OUA/OBIEE/ODI/Golden Gate, Python, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Factory, Azure Datalake, Azure ML, Azure DataBricks, etc.
• Experience solutioning Java/J2EE applications in Websphere platforms
• Experience in one or more of the following products: WebSphere Application Server, MQ, IBM App Connect Enterprise, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle RDBMS, SQL Server RDBMS, MOVEit Central/DMZ, SAP Data Services, IBM Netezza, Tableau, Alteryx
• Experience in one or more of the following technologies: Java, J2EE, .NET, ETL, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Javascript/JQuery, HTML5, Spring MVC, EJB 3, SQL, RESTful APIs, Web Services, JMS, Spring Integration, Quartz scheduler, Ant, Maven
• Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in GenAI, AI/ML implementation and/or related technologies
• Experience in performing secure data migration from On Prem to Cloud
• Experience in working with Electrical Utilities Operational Technology software is an asset.
• Interested in and passionate with new cutting-edge IT technology
• Self-motivated and quick learner
