System Admin - Intune, Autopilot and SCCM Experience

Hays is collaborating with one of North America's largest producers of wood-based products to find a highly experienced and skilled System Administrator Infrastructure & Cloud to lead the design and implementation of their enterprise device management solutions.

This senior-level position will play a crucial role in shaping their technology infrastructure, with a focus on SCCM, InTune, and Autopilot implementations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in enterprise-level system administration, particularly in modern device management practices.

As a key member of their IT team, you will be responsible for architecting robust, scalable, and secure device management solutions that align with their organization's strategic goals. What You'll Do

Solution Design and Implementation
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise SCCM, InTune, and Autopilot solutions.
  • Architect comprehensive device management strategies for both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Develop and document best practices for device provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure device management solutions meet business requirements and security standards.
Technology Leadership
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in device management and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate and propose new tools and technologies to enhance device management capabilities.
  • Participate in strategic IT planning sessions and contribute to long-term technology roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project managers and team members during the implementation phases.
Mentoring and Knowledge Sharing
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior system administrators.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the IT team.
Documentation and Standardization
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all device management systems and processes.
  • Establish and enforce standards for device configuration, security, and management across the organization.
Collaboration and Support
  • Work closely with project managers to provide technical expertise and ensure successful delivery of device management initiatives.
  • Assist in developing technical requirements and specifications for project planning.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues related to device management.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to align technology solutions with business needs.

What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in system administration, with at least 5 years focused on enterprise device management solutions.
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft SCCM, InTune, and Autopilot implementation and management.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems and management principles.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale device management solutions.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Skills (Highly Desired):
  • Experience with Apple MDM solutions, particularly JAMF.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based device management and integration with cloud services (e.g., Azure AD, AWS).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for the automation of device management tasks.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices in the context of device management.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSE, JAMF Certified Expert, CompTIA).
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) for iOS and Android devices.

Work Conditions
  • May require some evening and weekend work for system maintenance and updates.
  • May require occasional travel for conferences or vendor meetings.
  • Flexibility to participate in planning sessions and change windows outside regular business hours.
