Role: Support Engineer

Job Type: Contract (6 months)

Location: Hybrid (Toronto or Waterloo)

Your new role

This Support Engineer role is on the Operations Support team and is responsible for maintaining and supporting multiple Data Warehouses, BI applications and data integration applications. The candidate must work well within a dynamic environment and have an ability to understand applications and handle multiple requests and priorities. We value collaborative team players who will use their problem-solving and analytical skills to maintain and improve application stability and performance to satisfy client and business objectives.

What you'll need to succeed

Computer Science degree or certificate, or equivalent, supplemental training
• 3 - 5 years hand-on experience working as an IT Application/Technical support analyst
• 3+ years working in a DW/BI environment
• Mainframe development experience using TSO, ZEKE, JCL, COBOL
• Knowledge of Business Objects Universe Designer and Web Intelligence
• Experience with change management and incident management processes
• Experience in On-call support and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, flat files
• Ability to work as part of a virtual team to achieve tangible results, and ability to manage and resolve conflict
• Written communication is clear and concise.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Preferred Skills:
• ETL Tools: Informatica PowerCenter development
• Knowledge/Experience in Windows and Unix
• ITIL Foundations Level 3 Certification
