Your new company
Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager, the Senior Payroll Analyst will process and perform payroll duties to ensure the accurate and timely processing of payrolls. This will include maintaining records, preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing and submitting reports for third party providers and reconciling statutory remittances with payroll records.
Your new role
- Manage and execute end-to-end semi-monthly payrolls for Executives, Directors and Trustees of the Companies, Salaried and Hourly colleagues, as well as annual bonus and special payments (maternity leave, termination, among others),
- Handle complex and/or sensitive payroll matters and issues by providing clear communication and exceptional customer service to colleagues
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance Departments to ensure alignment on payroll-related matters
- Collect, analyze, enter, calculate and verify payroll information including hours, retro-active salaries and statutory and voluntary deductions
- Reconcile Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Revenue Quebec, Employer Health Tax (EHT) and WSIB payroll account information with payroll records
- Update Stock Options and Restricted Share Unit requests processed by Shareworks in Workday based on company procedures and reconcile quarterly
What you'll need to succeed
- Undergraduate degree in a Business/Human Resources or other relevant field
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- 5+ years previous full cycle payroll experience with both salary and hourly payrolls
- Exceptional collaboration and relationships skills, ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- Proficient with HRIS systems (Workday and Ceridian Powerpay preferred) and Excel
- Multi-provincial (including Quebec) experience is an asset
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Detail oriented with mathematical/statistical/analytical ability
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
