Senior Team Lead – Accounts Receivable - Hybrid

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Senior Team Lead, is essential in managing a team of accounts receivable associates. The role involves ensuring accurate and timely team billings and meeting collection goals. Additionally, the Senior Team Lead will support the team with any issues and ensure month-end reporting and analysis are completed accurately. This position requires coordination with internal teams and external clients to resolve billing disputes, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely payments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
TEAM LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISION
  • Provide guidance, instruction, training, mentorship, and leadership to inspire a team of AR professionals to perform optimally and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Schedule, delegate, assign, and review the work of team members.
  • Conduct yearly and mid-year performance reviews of the team.
  • Ensure the accuracy of billing information entered into the system and its proper submission to customers.
REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
  • Analyze the accounts receivable aging report, identify high-risk accounts, and implement resolution strategies.
  • Use available reporting closing month in desired overbilled position
  • Understand the status of maintenance (customer service) jobs and ensure their timely billing.
  • Identify trends and potential issues.
  • Analyze and forecast bad debt and implement strategies.
  • Monitor established KPIs and suggest new ones.
  • Track progress throughout the month to ensure monthly collection goals are met.
LEGAL COMPLIANCE AND CREDIT MANAGEMENT
  • Support the AR manager and legal team with contract reviews for special payment terms.
  • Ensure adherence to credit terms.
  • Assist the team with handling and resolving customer disputes, ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining company policies.
COMMUNICATION
  • Proactively escalate any issues to the AR Manager for prompt resolution.
  • Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies, suggesting appropriate corrective procedures.
OTHER
  • Assist AR Manager with process improvement, testing, finalizing & proper roll out of new initiatives.
  • Support the AP-AR Manager with yearly KPMG and internal audits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Over 7 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in the construction industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of progress billing based on percentage of completion is required.
