Your new role
My client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant due to the growth of their firm. They are looking for someone who enjoys the variety in public accounting and the responsibility that comes with looking after all their clients needs. They are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant who wants to continue to develop new skills and advance in their career. This role involves senior level assignments in a variety of industries and client types and supervising/ training less experienced staff with their assignments. The firm works in a paperless environment using CaseWare, TaxPrep, Microsoft Office, QuickBooks and other industry-specific software. The position will be responsible for the following;
- Work day-to-day with the partners
- Prepare/ review Compilation files
- Prepare Review and Audit engagement working paper files/ review work prepared by assistants
- Prepare/ review personal, corporate and trust income tax returns
- Review bookkeeping and government reporting, as required
- Assist with ongoing and annual payroll services
- Additional responsibilities/ assignments as you demonstrate abilities
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be working towards or hold a completed Canadian CPA designation combined with 3-5+ years Canadian public accounting firm experience. You will posses strong computer skills. You will be mature and responsible with strong judgment and problem-solving skills. Strong written and spoken communication skills are required. Effective organization and time management skills able to manage assignments and meet deadlines are essential to your success.
