As the Senior Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of eight direct reports. It is essential that you have extensive retail purchasing experience working with suppliers in Asia, including China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Turkey, as this is a key requirement for the role.
Your primary duties will include developing and implementing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, logistics, and quality assurance, to optimize global supply chain operations. Additionally, you will oversee the flow of goods across two distribution centers in the US. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in global sourcing and excellent negotiation skills. You should have over 10 years of experience in global sourcing, including working with vendors, conducting factory audits, and traveling to Asia to meet with suppliers and ensure the execution of sourcing strategies. Experience in sourcing finished goods rather than raw materials is essential, as the company does not manufacture products. Therefore, experience from a retail organization is crucial. This role requires a leader who is analytical, factual, and numbers-driven. Leadership experience is vital, with a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams. As a leader who leads by example, you must be able to motivate your team to achieve their best performance. The Senior Purchasing Manager will be required to travel to the US and Asia every quarter, so having the appropriate travel status is crucial for this role.
