A well-established personal injury law firm is looking for a Senior Law Clerk (Tort) to join their team.

Your new role

As a Senior Law Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in managing tort files and supporting the legal team. This position requires a seasoned professional with at least 5 years of experience in personal injury law, specifically tort cases. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth progression of cases, from initial intake to resolution.


What you'll need to succeed

  • File Management: Handle tort files efficiently using FileVine and PrimaFact
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies
  • Document Preparation: Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
  • Court Preparation: Assist in preparing for court appearances and trials
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys and other law clerks to ensure comprehensive case management

What you'll get in return

  • Graduated from a Law Clerk Diploma with Honours
  • 5 or more years of Law Clerk experience in Personal Injury (Tort) in Ontario
  • Experience working with majority of files with catastrophic injuries
  • Prior experience and knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, court practices, and procedures
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook, PC Law, FileVine and PrimaFact
  • Excellent grammar skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and all firm members
