Our client, a leading national real estate developer, is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their dynamic team in downtown Montreal. Your new role

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including coding invoices, journal entries, bank reconciliations, accruals, and depreciation.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop budgets and long-term financial forecasts, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and file sales tax (GST) returns, and stay updated on tax laws and regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate and support external audits, address inquiries, and implement recommendations to strengthen internal controls.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or comparable industry experience.
  • Experience working with holding companies and market securities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
