A Fabrication and industrial refrigeration company is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join their team.

Your new company

A local and well known industrial sheet metal fabrication company as well as refrigeration repair. They have been in business for over 50 years and have over 200 employees and have recently been acquired by a large US-owned company with over 25 operating businesses.

Your new role

• Responsible for managing the accounting functions associated with general ledger and sub-ledger maintenance, including account reconciliations, journal entries and transactional analysis.
• Have ownership over the monthly financial reporting package, including GL account reconciliations and month-end close journal entries.
• Provide explanations to management regarding results, including revenue actuals and projections, margins on installation and service jobs, and operating costs.
• Oversee the preparation of the bank reconciliations for all bank accounts and records cash transactions in the database.
• Partners with operations to review active construction jobs and service contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition based on the percentage of completion method. Update forecasts and estimates monthly.
• Oversee the collection process and work with operations to ensure the company remains in a cash-positive position.
Manage the timing of pay accordingly.
•Ensures sales tax returns are prepared and filed in the proper jurisdictions. Ensure tax rates and tax schedules in the system are accurate and are reflective of current state laws and customer requirements.
•Review & approve weekly payroll and monthly union reporting.
•Oversee accounting team (A/R, A/P).
• Work on special accounting projects as assigned.
• Provide functional backup for other finance functions as needed.
• Possess strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Capable of working both independently and in teams, as needed.

What you'll need to succeed


•Minimum of 7–10 years of related work experience
•US GAAP/IFRS Experience
•Financial Statement Consolidation ($60MM+ in Revenue)
•Recent experience with Great Plains is required
•Intercompany experience
•International experience, understanding of cross-border transactions
•Experience in leading audit and tax engagements from a client-side perspective, PST filing experience
•Overseeing Payroll and understanding all filings
•Month-end commentary, budgeting, forecasting
•ASC 842 Exposure
•Expert Excel skills (preferred Alteryx, Adaptive, SQL)
•Experience in leading a team
•Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA desirable, but not required
