Position: Senior Accountant (ref: 1115752)
Location: Mississauga(in office)
Salary: $95-100,000 + RSP + Benefits + CPA support
Progression: Room to move to other teams in the large local finance team, and progress towards a future leadership role.
Hours: flexible start and finish times (7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm) with a good work/life balance

My client is a large, international manufacturing operation, with its head office located in Mississauga. The company continues to grow its operation both locally and internationally and is seen as a leader in its industry.


Your new role
The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and will be responsible for providing financial and accounting support to the IT team. Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Responsible for financial reporting and operational analysis for the IT group supporting a North American portfolio of multinational businesses.
  • As this is a new business unit, you will play an integral role in developing new reporting packages and forecasts, including allocation methodologies.
  • Act as a key supporting partner with the Controller and Head of IT.
  • Play a crucial role in supporting the annual planning process, ensuring that forecasting is realistic and an effective indicator of future expenditures.
  • Lead the drive for continuous improvement in reporting operational financial results using analysis, and publish commentaries for Senior Management using scorecards, dashboards, and KPIs.

What you'll need to succeed
You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting combined with 5+ years Accounting/finance experience. You will either hold a completed Canadian CPA or be in the final stages of the designation. Previous experience supporting an IT group or similar internal departments is considered an asset. The position is highly interactive and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. ERP system experience is required, combined with Advanced Excel skills, able to build models and manage large volume of data. You will be an independent worker, able to investigate issues, find solutions and run with an initiative with limited guidance.
