Security Supervisor

Are you a seasoned security professional with leadership experience? We are looking for a dedicated Security Supervisor to join our team and ensure the safety and security of our building and its occupants.

Position: Security Supervisor
Location: Calgary, AB
Schedule: Monday to Friday, with 24/7 support availability

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and provide direction to a team of 11 in-house and 3 contract security staff.
  • Manage the building security control room during business hours.
  • Train security staff in all operational areas.
  • Handle access card programming, production, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct investigations and provide support.
  • Manage parking requests and bicycle parking stalls.
  • Deliver fire warden program training and coordinate fire drills.
  • Respond to emergencies, including fire and medical incidents.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and complete performance appraisals.
  • Maintain security systems and manage key control.
  • Assist with emergency response planning and crisis management.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum education: Grade 12.
  • Five years of security-related experience in a leadership position.
  • Related credentials/certification in security and leadership.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within six weeks of employment).
  • Certified Protection Officer (CPO) designation (or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment).
  • Certified Security Supervisor/Manager certificate from IFPO (or willingness to obtain within the second year of employment).
  • Current Alberta Security Services License.
  • Understanding of relevant legal parameters, crisis management, and security management processes.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work with the public professionally and stand or walk for extended periods.
