HAYS in Ottawa is hiring for a Residential Building Operator

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Residential Building Operator to manage the daily operations of our high-rise residential property. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-rise building operations, ensuring the property is well-maintained, safe, and compliant with all regulations. This role involves overseeing maintenance activities, managing building systems, and providing excellent service to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure the building complies with all safety regulations and building codes. Conduct regular inspections and address any issues promptly.
  • Respond to resident maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers to ensure quality maintenance and repair work.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building systems and reduce downtime
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Monitor and manage energy usage to ensure efficient operation of building systems.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in high-rise residential building operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in building operations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications in building operations or facilities management are an asset.
  • On-site presence within the high-rise residential building. May involve working in various conditions, including mechanical rooms and rooftops.
  • Full-time position with flexibility to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours.
