Our client is a trusted and experienced company that provides comprehensive property management services to commercial property owners and investors. They offer a tailored approach to property management, including property and asset management, leasing services, development and project coordination, energy efficiency, and due diligence. With a focus on hands-on attention to detail and proactive management, this company manages over 3 million square feet of property across Canada, including retail, office, residential, and industrial properties. This company is seeking a Property Manager to join the team based in Duncan, BC.
Your new role
As Property Manager, you will be overseeing properties in Duncan, Nanaimo, Parksville, and Courtenay, you'll be responsible for day-to-day operations, ensuring property maintenance, and fostering positive tenant and client relations. Your duties include regular property inspections, managing tenant concerns, supervising maintenance projects, preparing and managing property budgets, marketing and leasing vacant properties, ensuring regulatory compliance, collaborating with contractors and service providers, overseeing capital upgrades, coordinating repairs and reporting property performance to senior management. This role will require regular site visits in the various locations so access to a reliable vehicle is a must.
What you'll need to succeed
To qualify for the Property Manager position, candidates need proven experience in property management, preferably in both residential and commercial sectors. They should possess strong knowledge of property management principles and regulations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong organizational and time management abilities. Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite is required, and a bachelor’s degree in real estate, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are also necessary, and preference is given to those who hold a Rental Property Management License.
