Focusing on projects that range from institutional works to large scale commercial projects the company has a diverse project portfolio. The company has a Special Projects division that undertakes varied TI work and capital upgrade projects. Your new role

As Project Manager within the Special Projects Group, you will ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget. You will be involved with managing the full life cycle of projects, liaising closely with the Superintendents and Coordinators on site. You will also be the point person for external Consultants, Engineers and the Client. We need someone who is passionate about construction, that is very well organized, and can excel by supporting an experienced site and office staff as the company continues to expand its presence in the Vancouver market. Depending on the scale and complexity of the work, you may be tasked with running one project or multiple concurrently.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have 5+ years’ industry experience and either currently be a special projects PM or an experienced SPC/Junior PM that is ready to take that next step in your career.
The company places a very high priority on operating in a non-confrontational, relationship-oriented manner, so you must have excellent interpersonal skills. Our client needs someone who can quickly build strong relationships and resolve complex issues. You must be someone who can take feedback and is open to new ideas. Above all, you will be driven by a passion for technology and innovation, so you will not only be technologically advanced (MS Project, Excel), but willing to embrace new ideas and strategies during the project.

What you'll get in return

Our client prides themselves on having an excellent corporate environment and a high level of staff engagement. They offer a collaborative and team-driven work environment and they provide an excellent compensation package including a base salary of $100,000-$130,000, employee ownership incentives and ongoing financial contributions to training and personal development. As the BC business has been experiencing growth, this will lead to opportunities for career progression. If you feel you are hitting a glass ceiling where you are this could be the opportunity for you.
