Procurement Manager
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Manager / Procurement Manager to join a reputable residential developer and builder in Calgary.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, supplies, and services necessary for the construction and development of residential homes. This role requires strong negotiation skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure advantageous deals.
- Monitor and manage budgets for procurement activities.
- Ensure all purchases are within budget and contribute to cost-saving initiatives.
- Identify and procure necessary materials, supplies, and services for construction projects.
- Ensure timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare and evaluate requests for proposals (RFPs) and bids.
- Ensure all procured materials meet acceptable quality standards and regulations.
- Address any issues related to material quality or delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement status and cost savings.
- Work closely with construction teams, project managers, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities into project timelines and objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and pricing fluctuations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing within the construction industry, preferably residential home building.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of construction materials and industry standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
