Payroll Specialist - Permanent Opportunity

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the administration of the company’s payroll systems:

  • Maintain and update all data within Dayforce HCM, including payroll and benefits
  • Process payroll adjustments for new hires, terminations, taxable benefits, earnings, deductions, hours, commissions, vacation, and other entries
  • Audit and verify Time and Attendance to ensure accurate pay, including statutory holidays, vacation, and sick leave
  • Produce payroll journal entries for M3
  • Prepare and maintain related payroll records and reports.
  • Prepare T4’s and T2200’s annually.
  • Annual reconciliation of WSIB, WCB, CNESST and EHT for all provinces
  • Responsible for documenting workflow and work procedures related to the payroll system.
  • Research and resolve problems, perform scheduled activities, and liaison with third party payroll company.
  • Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, queries, and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Annual reconciliation of Pension, LTD premium, Optional Life and Taxable benefits
  • Prepare the Canada Life monthly payment request for the Extended benefits, Taxes (Federal and Provincial taxes) and pension contribution for payment
  • Prepare pension contribution list every pay for submission to Canada Life
  • Works closely with Human Resources on STD, LTD and work related accidents
  • Create reports as requested by HR from time to time
  • Reconcile clearing accounts for payroll
  • Calculation of Annual Vacation pay

Responsible for the administration of the company’s Commission systems:

  • Maintain and manage commission systems and ensure accuracy
  • Validate and reconcile commission data to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
  • Monitor and track individual and team performance against targets and quotas to calculate appropriate commission payouts.
  • Manage the timely and accurate payout of commissions to eligible employees and submit to the sales/service/clinical management and Manager FP&A for approval.
  • Ensure commission payments are correctly processed and reflected in the payroll system.
  • Generate commission statements and reports for sales representatives and management, providing clear visibility into commission earnings and performance metrics.
  • Analyze commission data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and optimize commission plans.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to sales leadership on potential adjustments. to commission structures to drive desired behaviors and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and enhancements to commission-related systems and processes.
  • Create commission reports and align with annual quotas, monitor quotas changes
  • Provides analytical support for the incentive compensation processes.

Experience and Education:

  • Designation as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner is an asset
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and other database concepts.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ of related experience.
  • Time and attendance and payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Sound and diversified accounting experience.
