Hiring Events and Marketing Coordinator for a 4-month contract in Surrey

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with an asset management company based in Surrey, BC. We are seeking an Event Coordinator to join their team for a 2-3 month contract. This position is full-time hours, and fully in office Monday-Friday. You will be permitted to work 2 days per week from home.

Your new role

The Event Planner will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of client and internal corporate events. This role requires an organized individual who can manage all aspects of event planning, from concept to completion, ensuring each event is successful and aligns with our brand values.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Develop and execute event plans, including corporate meetings, client events, celebrations, and promotional events.
  • Vendor Management: Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure high-quality services and products.
  • Budget Management: Support in maintaining event budgets, ensuring all events are delivered within budget while maintaining high standards.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and materials to maximize event attendance and engagement.
  • Logistics Management and execution: Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including venue setup, audiovisual requirements, catering, and transportation.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all event-related inquiries and communications, ensuring clear and timely information flow.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in corporate event planning or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ** Please note you must be able to start on short notice for this role since we require an urgent hire for support**

What you'll get in return

The opportunity to work for a large company throughout Canada. The pay is $25-$28 with full-time hours and you can start immediately. There is a potential for extending to the right person. You will receive weekly pay and be permitted to work on a hybrid basis.
