Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom-built metal fabricated parts and has a job open for Process Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer- NPI (New Product Introduction) in Kitchener-St. Mary’s – Stratford, ON area.

Process Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer- NPI is responsible for developing processes, SOPs, Best Practices
to ensure APQP, and liaison between customers and engineering for any Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ ECN) for new launch and mass production within metal fabrication. You will identify opportunities for Process Improvement initiatives, Automation capabilities, utilize FMEA, DMAIG and similar tools to conduct Root Cause Analysis and initiate process improvement, streamline materials processes and costs, initiate continuous improvement, analyze process data, and implement corrective actions, implement LEAN, Kaizen events to improve overall efficiencies and the productivity within the NPI and mass production stages.

Process Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer- NPI will ideally have 4–5 years’ experience in NPI stage for custom-built metal fabrication processes (MUST have) within the CNC, Lathe, Cutting, Bending, Machining, welding type processes-(MUST have). Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics preferred; prior established success in process writing, RCA, APQP is a MUST. Strong experience working with engineering changes ECR – ECN within metal CNC lathe environment, familiarity with ISO 9001 / ISO TS 16949, Solid Works, AutoCAD, Word Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Lean. Excellent English communication skills are a MUST, ability to work directly with Customers, Sales and Engineering, ability to travel 30-40% to the US and China. All candidates MUST be Canadian passport holders to be able to travel on short notice.
