Your new role

The Project Engineer will assist in leading a team of professionals and manage the development of major construction projects in a technically viable, cost effective and timely manner. The focus will be engineering interdisciplinary coordination with selected engineering contractors and within the Owner’s team for scope definition/control, and schedule of engineering deliverables to meet Procurement, Construction and Operational requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for management of Owner directed engineering and/or engineering and procurement (EP) agreements.

  • Management and development of the Project Engineering Owner’s Team, including review and monitoring of progress and providing guidance on deliverables.
  • Ensure engineering scope for project development is properly defined for integrated owner’s team consultants and is in accordance with approved levels of study definition.
  • Manage engineering contractor’s scope and corresponding budgets to ensure overall project objectives are met.
  • Advance the relationship between the engineering contractor(s), other engineers and Operations to ensure effective integration and coordination of strategies and programs.
  • Work with Project Controls to ensure methods of measuring engineering progress are in place to monitor engineering execution.

What you'll need to succeed

  • P. Eng would be desireable
  • 11 plus years of relevant projects experience with mill processing background is desirable.
  • Be a dynamic, career-minded individual.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be highly motivated with proven organizational skills.
