Your new role

Reporting to the Controller the key responsibilities will include; preparing month, quarter and year-end journal entries. Differentiate capitalized versus expensed purchases, prepare and post fixed asset additions and depreciation. You will provide guidance to the AP team on invoice coding and prepare account reconciliations for analysis. You will review journal entries and analyze summary reports and source data to ensure linkage between the ERP and financial reporting systems. You will perform analytical reviews of various branches of the business and assist with audits and tax reporting requirements along with preparing various consolidation reports and much more.

What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 1 year in Financial Accounting, or a similar role in a large and complex business, ideally manufacturing or distribution, though this isn't required. You will ideally be pursuing your CPA and will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and general ledger management. We are looking for someone with a strong attention to detail, and a proven ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports. An effective communicator and problem solver with a knowledge of audit and tax reporting requirements as an asset.
