Seeking Junior Business Analyst to Join a Company In Calgary for a 5-Month Contract

Hays Specialist Recruitment is currently seeking a Junior Business Analyst to join our client's team immediately within the energy sector. This will be a 5-month contract in Calgary. This role is full-time in an office with some flexibility to work on a hybrid basis.


Your new role

  • The Analyst will facilitate the coordination of supplier qualification requests and maintain supplier data. This role will require the ability to take on several ad hoc requests to ensure business continuity and work with multiple Supply Chain and Business Unit Stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and oversee the timely execution of supplier records with the appropriate qualifications
  • Review and action qualification exceptions, requiring coordination and facilitation of risk assessments by cross-functional groups, documenting decisions and presenting to stakeholders to improve decision-making
  • Review qualification requests and analyze existing qualified suppliers in the category, commodity, and geography or redirect to existing qualified supplier
  • Provide high quality services for qualifications and reassessments for new and existing suppliers and collaborate with supply chain partners to ensure appropriate supplier qualifications are met
  • Maintain and administer access to our Approved Manufactures Listing to internal and external users
  • Monitor, respond to and take inbox requests on the qualification process and status of internal users

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain management, supplier qualification, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and tools, data analysis, and risk management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess supplier performance and compliance.
  • The ability to meticulously review and verify supplier documentation and qualifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards relevant to supplier qualifications and governance.
  • Experience of supporting projects and coordinating cross-functional teams.
