Junior Accounts Receivable Associate / Hybrid

POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Accounts Receivable Associate who is eager to expand his knowledge of all aspects of accounts receivable. Reporting to the A/R Team Lead, this role involves a variety of tasks to support the entire team as well as individual responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a goal-driven mindset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
BANKING AND DEPOSITS
  • Prepare and reconcile cash applications, including coding checks and wires.
  • Prepare checks for RBC by completing the check transmittal form.
  • Coordinate with the offsite office in Calhoun to receive and deposit checks.
  • Send the deposit upload file to General Accounting daily.
  • Process and manage all credit card transactions.
  • Prepare offsets on accounts to be submitted to General Accounting.
BILLING AND COLLECTIONS
  • Handle billing and collections for a portfolio of minor territories.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable team with billings at month-end and during busy periods, including follow-ups and review of contractual documents.
  • Follow established procedures and standards to ensure outstanding balances are collected.
OTHER
  • Performing administrative tasks such as FedEx pickups and label creation.
  • Serve as a backup for the approval of new vendor creations.
  • Assist in gathering documents for various internal and external audits.
  • Support the team lead with ad-hoc requests.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Over 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in the distribution or construction industry is an asset.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in process improvement.
  • Proficient in spoken English.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
