Our client, a recognized automotive dealer is looking to hire an IT Administrator to join their team in Brampton.
- As an IT Administrator here your focus will be maintaining the company's IT network, desktops, laptops, servers, phones, and security systems. You will need to be able to independently diagnose and fix computer, application, printer, phone, network and server related problems. You will manage Windows Servers (both Domain and Email), Avaya Phone System, and VMWare. Strong Apple iPhone support skills are also required. The successful candidate should also have excellent documentation skills.
- You will be accountable for user issues daily and must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Organization is extremely important in this fast paced, growing company.
Your New Role
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, connection, printer and software issues reported to the IT Service Desk
- Update network applications as required
- Maintain daily tape backup and off-site tape storage
- Troubleshoot and resolve all problems encountered with hardware and software. Escalate requests to the appropriate party, as needed. Replace or repair defective parts and equipment.
- Conduct technology training for new users
- Assist in the development of training coursework and materials
- Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise
- Increase efficiencies, technical ability and interpersonal skills
- Perform routine server monitoring and performance benchmarking
- Monitor and remove virus, spyware, and other non-authorized software
- Complete special projects as requested
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Associate degree in Computer Technology or related field.
- Certifications such as MCP, A+ preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of prior experience in a similar role.
- The ability to prioritize, be attentive to details, maintain confidentiality, and provide exceptional client service is required. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and computer skills required.
- A sense of urgency and a commitment to timely completion of projects.
- Attention to detail along with a commitment to quality and confidentiality.
- Scripting background in either Batch, PowerShell, or any other programming languages, is an asset but not required.
- An understanding of cloud technologies such as Office 365, Azure, AWS
- Ability to adapt to change.
