Your New Role
As an Intermediate Planner, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the preparation, submission, and processing of complex land use planning projects and applications. This includes Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Applications, Plans of Subdivision, Committee of Adjustment Applications, Draft Plan of Condominium Applications, and Final Registration. You will also mentor and supervise junior planning staff, providing guidance and leadership to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage land use planning projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications in accordance with provincial legislation and municipal regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and municipal staff to facilitate project approvals.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior planning staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.

What You'll Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in urban planning, land development, and project management. A proven track record of successfully bringing development projects to fruition is essential. Additionally, you should possess strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and supervise junior staff effectively.

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
  • Professional designation (e.g., RPP, MCIP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of provincial and municipal planning policies and regulations.
