Housing and Facilities Coordinator - Kiwassa Neighbourhood House - Vancouver

Kiwassa Neighbourhood House, a grassroots, volunteer-led, non-profit organization in East Vancouver, BC, has been serving the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood for over 65 years with a diverse array of programs and services for all ages, including youth leadership and life skills programs, adult employment and settlement services, senior wellness activities, newcomer support, affordable housing, and community engagement initiatives, all designed to be free or as affordable as possible, aiming to build a welcoming and inclusive community.
Your new role
The Housing & Facilities Program Coordinator at Kiwassa Neighbourhood House is responsible for managing and maintaining family social housing programs, May MacLean Place (23 units) and Norah Davis Gardens (33 units), and six facilities[DM1]
. This role ensures the occupancy, security, maintenance, and cleanliness of all facilities, and supervises the Facilities and Maintenance Caretaker, as well as contractors. Key duties include building positive relationships with tenants and community partners, screening tenants and maintaining a waitlist, drafting and implementing maintenance plans, responding to building concerns, overseeing turnover of vacant apartments, managing contractors, tracking rental payments, facilitating capital improvements, and ensuring compliance with housing policies and funding contracts. The coordinator also participates in the Kiwassa Health & Safety Committee and ongoing professional development.

What you'll need to succeed
You will understand the principles and practices of residential property management services with preference given to experience within affordable housing/nonprofit environments. You should have direct experience in building or property management, construction/trades maintenance, or building and project inspections and ideally one year of supervisory experience complimented by a diploma in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
