A well established property management company that operates in the greater Montreal area and Toronto is seeking a Financial Controller for their leadership team.

Your new role
Reporting to the president of the company, you will be responsible for all day to day accounting matters including reporting, cash flow management etc, in a diversified portfolio including many property types, geography, partners, clients (private and institutional), and auditors, as well as being responsible for a staff of 8 or 9 people.

Responsibilities in some detail:

• Reporting: Monthly/Quarterly reporting, annual budgets/forecasting/reforecasting, cash flow, banking liaison, GST, assist in financing for acquisitions of construction loans.
• Management of accounting team: 2 senior bookkeepers, 4 bookkeepers, A/P, payroll, accounting clerk, Senior financial leadership to direct reports as well as executive team

• Maintain strong relations with partners and clients expected to improve efficiency in all of the above next generation: play an important role in transitioning company over the next 5 to 10 years. Ability to grow with the next generation.

What you'll need to succeed

• 10 to 15 years commercial real estate experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Professional accounting designation an asset
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and perfectly bilingual French / English
• Ability to manage various tasks at one time
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
