Exciting Contract Opportunity - Expeditor (24 months)

Our client is a leading North American energy infrastructure company with operations in the natural gas, oil and power industries.

Your new role
The Expeditor is responsible for assisting and working with the Supply Chain Capital Project Buyers. The Capital Project Expeditor ensures that the delivery of equipment and material is in accordance with the Purchase Order requirements and assures that equipment is fulfilling the agreed upon terms and conditions of the purchase order (PO) and reacts accordingly when there is a deviation. This position requires a strong working knowledge of Capital/Project Expediting, Supply Chain functions and systems, interpersonal and negotiating skills, proficiency in MS Office Applications, SAP and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll need to succeed
  • As a minimum of a college associate degree, technical training/certifications, combination or equivalent is required.
  • Five (5) years' experience specifically as a Capital/Project Expeditor for the oil and gas industry.
  • An equivalent combination of both experience and education will be considered.
  • Must be able to trigger and facilitate problem resolution processes and can cope with the different interests of the involved parties - TransCanada vs. suppliers.
  • Understanding of the material/equipment, manufacturing processes and the market situation of the relevant commodity.
  • Understands that the Material Status Reports and systems must be kept up to date to enable the Project and Supply Chain Team to access required information electronically and at will.
  • Displays persistence in dealings with suppliers. Understands the chain of command within the supplier's organization and is willing to approach “the next person up” in their organization if a response is unsatisfactory.
