Director of People and Culture

Hays Human Resources division in Canada is partnered with our client, a leader in the Education industry with over 40 campuses globally. With 30 years of experience, they offer in-person and online classes, workshops, and camps, along with training and workbooks for educators. Due to progression planning, they are excited to welcome a new Director of People and Culture.

Your New Role: As the Director of People and Culture, you will report directly to the CEO and be part of the Executive Senior Leadership team. Leading a team of 2 in the HR function, you will be responsible for redeveloping HR strategies and policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations, and executing human resource planning, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training, and policy implementation. Building strong relationships with management and employees, you will provide high-level advice and guidance on HR strategies and issues.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a management or senior leadership role.
  • Experience in the education industry or similar professional service environment.
  • Proven ability to support a workforce across multiple provinces/locations in Canada; global experience is an asset.
  • Forward-thinking, creative HR leader with a passion for innovative solutions.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and experience in developing and implementing HR strategies.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, focused on maintaining a positive company culture.
  • Strategic business partner with hands-on HR support capabilities.
  • High degree of tact and diplomacy.
