Your new role
As the Director of Human Resources, you will be the standalone HR leader, responsible for driving all human resource functions while playing a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the company culture. You excel in a high-growth environment, wear many hats, and work across various HR domains including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and process improvement. You’ll take the current HR processes and procedures to the next level by streamlining and enhancing efficiency, making sure team members have the best possible work experience. You thrive when presented with a blank slate and can roll up your sleeves when needed. You will be accountable for designing, developing, and leading activities of talent and culture within the organization, amplifying the organization’s mission and ensuring legal compliance. This role requires approximately 10 years of related experience and a readiness to take ownership of a company’s end-to-end human resources (talent & culture) function.
What you'll need to succeed
- Foster a positive organizational culture that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Champion a high-performing environment, implementing strategies that attract, retain, reward, develop, motivate, and empower talent by fostering a trusted, positive, and inclusive work environment.
- Create, distribute, and analyze employee surveys to gather feedback and inform engagement strategies.
- Implement effective orientation, onboarding, off-boarding, training, leadership, and development programs.
- Promote a culture of continuous feedback and professional growth.
- Oversee implementation strategies for productivity, recognition, and morale.
- Manage internal communication strategies to keep the team engaged and informed.
- Develop standardized employee documentation, including offer letters, job descriptions/postings, employment contracts, and other required employee documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws and regulations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Manage employee risk and ensure a safe working environment, including health and safety.
- Apply and interpret employment and labour law to manage company HR risk.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and manuals are up-to-date on legislative requirements.
What you'll get in return
- A minimum of 7–10 years of progressive human resources experience including holding leadership roles, preferably in a growth environment.
- Strong knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- High level of emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and change management.
- Be a strategic thinker and be able to find outside-the-box solutions.
