This company has a long-standing reputation for high-performance products and innovations in equipment manufacturing. The company has operations in Canada and the US and is part of a global organization with its North American head office located in Peterborough.
Your New Role
As the Director of Finance, you will lead the accounting and finance operations for the company's Canada and US operations. Reporting to the VP Finance located overseas, you will oversee a team of 10, including a Controller, AR, AP, general accounting, and analysis. Your responsibilities will include;
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals and objectives.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and the publicly traded parent company, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company goals.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian tax laws and manage treasury functions, including cash flow management and investment strategies
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA designation
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax regulations, treasury management, and financial reporting for publicly traded companies
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
