Calgary Director of Condominium Management

Hays has partnered with our client in Calgary who is looking to hire a new Licensed Director of Condominium Management.

Your new role

The successful candidates will manage the activities of our client's condominium portfolio. With its strong diversity of business offerings, track record, and aggressive growth plans, this client offers a conducive environment to develop a long-term real estate career.

Responsibilities
  • Working with building staff and relevant stakeholders to ensure the standards of the clients, owners and tenants are met.
  • Manage, mentor, and train existing Condominium Managers.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts, sourcing vendors and contractors.
  • Assist in overseeing various operational expenditure and capital projects.
  • Managing multiple tasks/projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, including operational budgets, capital projects and financial performance of the property.
  • Assistance with the management of properties in accordance with corporate policies, procedures and operations within senior management approved annual budgets.
  • Coordinating repair and maintenance requests to ensure they meet budgetary and operational expectations.
  • Ensuring contracts and agreements are performed according to terms and conditions, while adhering to all applicable legislation.
  • Assist with the preparation of purchase orders and obtain information on applicable costs to engage contractors and purchase services.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and payment processing.
  • Assist with the development and oversight of annual operating and capital budget forecasts.
  • Performing and documenting property inspections, priority reports, variance reports, and quarterly re-forecasts.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Embrace and proactively support the company's culture of environmental sustainability, and corporate and social responsibility.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 10 years experience in the condominium management industry, including residential and/or commercial, required;
  • Must have an active RECA Condominium Manager license;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field from an accredited university (preferred);
  • Valid Alberta's Driver's License;
  • Working knowledge of Yardi preferred;
  • Working knowledge of Excel is required;
  • Strong written and oral communication;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Management of competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
