Jim Pattison Developments (JPD) is the real estate division of the Jim Pattison Group of Companies (JPG). JPG is one of the largest privately held companies in Canada with total annual revenues of $20 billion across multiple industries including: automotive, advertising, media, agricultural equipment, food and beverage, entertainment, exporting, financial, real estate and distribution services.
JPD (www.jpdevelopments.com) currently owns and manages over 300 income-generating properties in North America, totalling over 19 million square feet, including 51 grocery-anchored shopping centres. In Western Canada, JPD is also active in the development of new projects consisting of multifamily condo and rental residential, industrial and retail commercial. We are soon to complete the Burrard Place mixed-use development. The Burrard Place development is architecturally significant and includes Vancouver’s tallest residential tower.
JPD also has plans to diversify the portfolio to include projects in other major centers across Canada.

Your new role

JPD is seeking a full-time Development Manager to join our development team. The Development Manager reports directly to the VP – Development & Investment. The role is an exciting opportunity to work for a very well-capitalized and stable business on projects spanning a variety of asset classes and markets. We have a small, close-knit team, and you will be supported by a very capable Development Coordinator. You will have the opportunity to gain broad exposure to the entire development lifecycle including due diligence, approvals, design and construction. This will include close collaboration with external consultants, marketing and city staff. The projects you will initially be responsible for are multifamily residential.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, collaborative and driven individual that is passionate about furthering their career in real estate. You are an excellent communicator with strong analytical and organizational skills. You are a self-starter but also love to collaborate with those around you. The ideal profile we are looking for is someone that has 5+ years relevant experience as Development Manager. Ideally, having taken at least one multifamily project right through the development process. You should have a relevant education such as Urban Land, Architecture or Engineering, but most importantly you have a positive attitude and genuine interest in real estate.
