Your new role
Role: Database Admin Working Schedule:
Hybrid Model – 2-3 days per week in office
Compensation Package: Negotiable

Role/Responsibilities:
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in deploying and supporting Netezza environments while assisting in integrating ETL tools and reporting interfaces
- “Hands-on” Netezza database management (performance tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, monitoring & alerting, migrating, applying Service Packs, back-up & restoring, Disaster Recovery)
- Installing and configuring new databases
- Assist application development teams with planning and implementing database changes
- Work closely with Architects and other IT staff to implement Database Administration standards and policies
- Implementing & enforcing enterprise security, access controls, and policy based management
- Support of production environments and mission critical applications with rotational on-call schedule
What you'll need to succeed
Technical Experience:
- 5 years database management
- 2-5 years – Netezza experience with backup & recovery
- 2-5 years – Netezza experience with redundancy, replication and performance tuning techniques
- Excellent knowledge of Netezza Architecture and system internals, including updates and features on new versions
- Expert knowledge using Netezza native tools for typical administrative tasks
- 5+ years of SQL programming
- Good SAP Data Services and Business Objects knowledge
- Familiar with monitoring and alerting tools
Highly Desirable
- Experience with Oracle Database Administration
- Experience working in data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology
- Experience with installing and maintaining ETL tools such as SAP Data Services
- Experience with data analytics and reporting
- Knowledgeable in SQL Server administration
- Knowledgeable in Business Objects
Non-Technical Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and writing
- Must be dependable and flexible, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) concepts
- Comfortable working in an environment with a high degree of multitasking
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff
- Logical and proactive problem solver
- Identifies and resolves issues with excellent follow-through
- Possesses good understanding of network principles such as load balancing and firewalls
Other Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
