Your new role

We are seeking a Corporate Communications Specialist to join our Toronto office. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, you will develop and manage communications programs across various business lines, with a particular focus on supporting our Investor Relations, Human Resources and Sustainability Teams. This role provides an exciting opportunity to create and measure new digital and traditional communications tactics for Canada’s largest REIT. You will collaborate with various internal departments and C-suite, third-party public relations and marketing agencies, and external stakeholders, including but not limited to the media. The specialist will be expected to stay well-connected in business and cultural activities occurring across the organization. As such, we expect this role to be in the office or at one of our properties 4 days a week with work from home 1 day a week.


What you'll need to succeed

Passion for storytelling and 3+ years of experience in professional copywriting for
Public disclosures and/or in drafting remarks for senior executives
A university or college degree in business, marketing or an equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job
Strong presentation development and execution skills — advanced proficiency in
PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills who proactively seeks to build relationships with other departments and stay-in-the-know on business and culture activities
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Project management experience is an asset — must be able to time manage effectively and create project schedules, comfortable managing multiple projects/events and be able to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in PR and/or within the real estate industry an asset
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or equivalent an asset
  • Google Analytics Certificate an asset
