A local and reputable real estate developer and property manager is looking to fill the role of construction accountant.

Your new role

Under the supervision of the Assistant Divisional Controller - Construction, the incumbent will be responsible for financial analysis and will need to produce financial statements to support strategic decision-making for construction work and land.

• Participate in the full accounting cycle related to residential and commercial development projects.
• Prepare documentation for month/quarter/year-end, analyze variances, reconcile accounts, and respond to auditors' questions.
• Participate in the development of operational budgets.
• Prepare financial analyses for the construction department and ongoing projects.
• Collaborate on business/budget process improvement and optimization projects, as well as internal reporting.
• Invoice various works for buildings and clients.
• Prepare and validate the continuity of fixed assets and land.
• Review tax returns for multiple entities.
• Open projects and review budgets in the accounting system, in accordance with internal controls.
• Perform any other related accounting tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles.
• Experience in project accounting is an asset.
• Experience in real estate or construction is an asset.
• Excellent command of Excel.
• Knowledge of Yardi Voyager is an asset.
• Autonomy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Functional bilingualism.
