A full-service law firm in North York is looking for a Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk to join the practice.

Your new company

Our client is a mid-sized premier full-service law firm with three locations in Ontario. They are currently seeking a Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk on a permanent, full-time basis to join their thriving practice in North York, Ontario.

Your new role

As a Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk, your tasks will involve:
Transaction Support:
  • Assist lawyers in drafting and reviewing commercial real estate documents, including agreements of purchase and sale, leases, and closing documents.
  • Conduct title searches, due diligence, and property registrations.
  • Coordinate with clients, lenders, and other parties involved in transactions.
File Management:
  • Maintain organized files and records related to real estate transactions.
  • Prepare closing checklists and ensure all necessary documentation is complete.
  • Monitor critical dates and deadlines.
Client Communication:
  • Communicate with clients, answering inquiries and providing updates on transaction progress.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, such as real estate agents, surveyors, and municipalities.
Administrative Tasks:
  • Handle administrative tasks related to real estate transactions, such as billing, invoicing, and file archiving.
  • Assist with any other duties as required by the legal team.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this position, the firm is seeking an experienced candidate with a minimum of 3 years of Commercial Real Estate Law experience, and must have successfully obtained a Diploma from a recognized Ontario Law Clerk program. You also must have experience working on complex real estate and land development transactions and the ability to handle files independently or as part of a team.
