HAYS Recruitment is recruiting for a qualified Residential Building Superintendent

HAYS Recruitment is supporting a key client in the Ottawa area to add a qualified Residential Building Superintendent to their team. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fulfill a live-in or live-out Building Superintendent role in the downtown and surrounding area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs in common areas and individual units. Coordinate with external contractors for larger repairs.
  • Respond promptly to tenant inquiries, concerns, and complaints. Foster positive relationships with residents to ensure a high level of tenant satisfaction.
  • Be available to handle emergency situations, including after-hours calls.
  • Ensure the building and grounds are clean, safe, and presentable. This includes common areas, hallways, and exterior spaces.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, repairs, and other building-related activities. Assist with rent collection and lease administration.
  • Assist with the move-in and move-out process, including inspections and ensuring units are ready for new tenants.
  • Ensure all building operations comply with local health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a superintendent or in a similar role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle emergencies calmly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to live on-site and be available for on-call duties.

Benefits:

  • $55,000 to $65,000 salary, depending on level of experience + benefits package.
