Building Operator - Junior - 4th/5th class needed - Downtown Vancouver - $70-$77K

Our client is one of North America’s leading mixed-use real estate development companies. They are seeking a Building Operator to join their Downtown Vancouver Office portfolio.

As a Building Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of commercial, residential, or industrial buildings. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and overseeing various systems, equipment, and facilities within the building. Your goal is to create a comfortable, functional, and well-maintained environment for occupants.

Responsibilities:
  • Daily operation and maintenance of the building infrastructure and support systems, while performing rounds and logging readings
  • Operate, troubleshoot/problem solve equipment and system matters as required to ensure reliability and optimal use
  • Perform duties such as cleaning, painting, snow removal, HVAC adjustments, filter maintenance, minor plumbing maintenance, ladder and lift work, and general building repair
  • Respond to service requests promptly and professionally
  • Communicate/liaise daily with tenants to optimize tenant response and communications, escalating where required
  • Operation of the BAS based on-site systems and conditions
  • Supervision and coordination of subcontractors, verification of completed work, and high-quality building standards are maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Class 4/5 Power Engineering Certificate or other red seal trade
  • Class 5 BC Driver's License and abstract
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to always maintain a professional demeanour with fellow employees and customers
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Knowledge and experience in building automated systems and HVAC systems
  • Previous experience working in facilities would be preferred
  • Available for on-call standby duties and emergency out of hours call-outs on a rotational basis

In exchange for your contributions, you will be compensation with a salary between $70,000-$77,000, RRSP matching, on call payments and overtime as required, extended health benefits, 2 weeks’ vacation and plenty of room to develop/grown your skillset.
