Assistant Design Manager opportunity - Toronto - $110k-$120k

Our client works to build a space where well-being can be accessed by all. With a landmark project based in Europe, they are looking to expand their reach to bring an iconic scenic hospitality resort to Canada. They are currently looking for an Assistant Design Manager with at least 4+ years of experience in design coordination or a related management role to join their team in Toronto. This role requires you to work in office 5 days a week.
Your new role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, organized Assistant Design Manager to support the design team in successfully planning and executing this project. The Assistant Design Manager will work closely with the Director of Design and Development to coordinate various stages of the design process, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards. This role will involve collaboration with internal teams, external consultants and stakeholders to integrate design elements that reflect our clients' vision of accessibility, sustainability, and cultural respect.
What you'll need to succeed
As an Assistant Design Manager, you will need to have an educational background in architecture with 4+ years of experience in a design coordination or management role, ideally within large-scale commercial or hospitality projects. You will need to be proficient in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite), project management tools (proficiency in Ms Project or alike is a plus), and document control platforms. You must also be knowledgeable in OBC, NFPA, LEED and other applicable standards. Previous experience working on a project which has achieved LEED Silver/Gold is preferred. You must have strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. You must have great organizational skills with attention to detail, especially in tracking design updates, documentation, and feedback.
What you'll get in return
The compensation package is commensurate with experience but includes a competitive salary, between $110-120k + discretionary bonus, 4 weeks' of vacation + additional personal days, extended health and dental benefits and RRSP.
