Your new role


Take charge of overseeing the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant management of tailings storage facilities (TSF) and water management systems within a mining operation. Your role is crucial in ensuring that all activities adhere to stringent engineering standards, regulations, and safety protocols, safeguarding both the environment and the workforce.


By efficiently managing and allocating resources, you will drive optimal project execution, ensuring that every aspect runs smoothly and effectively. Your strategic vision will be instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction strategies that align with and meet the project's ambitious goals and objectives.


Your leadership will foster a culture of collaboration and effective communication among the engineering, procurement, and construction teams, ensuring seamless integration and teamwork. Additionally, you will define scope requirements for functional teams, meticulously ensuring that all areas of scope, cost, and schedule are thoroughly addressed. Your strategic oversight will be crucial in delivering successful project outcomes and advancing the company's position in the industry


What you'll need to succeed


  • 10+ years of experience with tailings storage facilities (TSF) or water management systems
  • 8+ years of experience in mining
  • Bilingual (able to communicate with clients and stakeholders in English and French)
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Project management qualifications highly regarded)
  • Registered with the Quebec Order of Engineers (OIQ)
  • Experience managing the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant management of tailings storage facilities (TSF) and water management systems within a mining operation
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects
  • Leadership qualities to motivate and guide engineering, procurement and construction teams
  • Collaborative skills to work with functions and other areas in scope delivery
  • Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and evaluations
  • Project management skills in developing scopes, costs and schedules
  • Ability to review and evaluate engineering designs, construction strategies and project controls outputs
  • High degree of business acumen
