Accounts Payable Clerk - Mississauga, ON

Your new company

Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a industrial construction company located in Mississauga, ON. We are looking to hire a Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team on a contract basis of 6 months, which has the possibility of extension/ permanent. This candidate will be working from their Mississauga Office on a full time basis.

Your new role

  • Verifies invoices against Purchase Orders (POs), packing lists and receiving reports to ensure the prices and quantity are correct
  • Prepares and processes check runs, electronic payments on a regular basis
  • Mail cheques and files all AP related documents
  • Reconciles vendor statements against records on file and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintains vendor’s files and responds to internal and external inquiries
  • Maintains, files and safeguards all accounts payable information
  • Provides supporting documents for audits
  • Assists in the annual physical inventory and cost change
  • Provides support to the Finance team and other departments to assist with various ad hoc analysis
  • Other office administration duties as required

What you'll need to succeed

  • Post-Secondary education in Accounting or Business Administration required
  • 2 - 3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • Must be familiar with QuickBooks
  • Ability to manage the full AP cycle with full ownership of the role
  • Computer Literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Customer Service and Client Communication is required
  • Ability to problem solve and deal with issues in a timely manner
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High sense of urgency and strong work ethic
  • Team oriented – ability to work well with others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
