A property management firm are hiring an 18-month Accounting Assistant contract in Vancouver.

Accounting Assistant
Supporting the Senior Accountant, where you’ll play a vital role in managing key financial processes such as invoicing, tax preparation, corporate banking, and accounting period closes.

In this role, you’ll be part of a dynamic team that values problem-solving, independence, and teamwork. If you enjoy contributing to operational excellence and thrive on balancing tasks with efficiency, we’d love to meet you!

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, record, and manage invoices with precision
  • Process transactional and period-end journal entries
  • Collaborate with Operations and Project teams to address accounting inquiries
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Liaise with departments on accounting and banking matters
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and compliance reports
  • Assist with tax working papers, returns, and external audits
  • Participate in special projects, such as Yardi system setup and testing
  • Collect and distribute reports required by external parties
  • Support ad hoc projects as needed

What you'll need to succeed

  • 1-2 years of industry experience
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to adapt to changing needs
  • Experience with month-end close
  • Solid organizational skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency
