Your new role

As the Mechanical Estimating Manager, you will oversee the estimating department, managing budgets, staffing, and performance reviews. You'll lead the development of estimates from early stages to ongoing projects, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment. Your responsibilities include mentoring staff, fostering relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement. You'll coordinate bids, collaborate with various teams, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you need a post-secondary degree or diploma in construction/engineering or a related field, with mechanical trade certification as an asset. You should have at least eight years of industry experience in estimating, strong leadership skills, and the ability to read and interpret building specifications and drawings. Proficiency in cost-estimating software and Microsoft Office is essential, along with excellent communication and time-management skills.
