Hybrid Job opportunity for an Interior Designer to join a leading design firm in Downtown Vancouver!

Established over 30 years ago, this Canadian-owned business now has 3 offices across Canada: Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax. The company specializes in “Workplace Design Solutions”. They are 100% Canadian with their head office located in Toronto. The company is well-versed and trained in international trends and incorporates that knowledge into their design development. Their commercial and office interior design studio is based on innovative, collaborative approaches supported by an open environment allowing creativity to reach its highest levels.

Your new role

In this role, you will be assisting with and preparing design and construction drawings, specifications, details and sketches for all phases of projects. You will be joining a team where you will be assisting with the management, coordination and the preparation of development and construction drawing packages for a number of projects. You will be responsible for small projects/facets and for large projects with minimal supervision. You will have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities and continue to improve your skills. This would be a great position for someone looking to evolve into a leader within the business.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant interior design experience with a strong understanding of the design and construction process. You will have experience in developing outstanding building project solutions, a Diploma or Degree in Interior Design. You will have strong design and presentation skills and enhanced CAD skills, hand-drawn skills and software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint including Sketch-Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. Familiarity with sustainable design principles (WELL, FitWell, LEED, etc.) will be considered an asset. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills along with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and have the ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at a time. The ideal candidate will be punctual, passionate about Interior Design, organized and efficient, outgoing and personable, motivated and innovated, detailed-oriented and have the ability to work well on their own and in a team environment. The successful candidate will have graduated from a recognized school of Interior Design/Architecture/Architectural Technology and is working toward professional designation.

In exchange for your hard work and commitment, you will be rewarded with an attractive compensation package ($75,000-$95,000 per annum), a hybrid work schedule (4 days in office/1 day at home), and summer hours all year long (half-day Fridays if you do an extra hour each day) and a positive supportive working environment.
