Intermediate Architectural Technologist

Our portfolio includes project work that stretches across Canada and into the US.

*This is an in-office position*

Your new role

  • Collaborate with the project design team to produce technical drawings, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
  • Provide technical oversight and coordinate construction drawings and permit submissions.
  • Offer insights on building codes and conduct periodic code reviews at various project stages.
  • Advise on building envelope and performance throughout the project as needed.
  • Review progress against the schedule and recommend actions to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Provide design and technical advice to the design team, including hand-sketched and CAD-sketched ideas.
  • Possess experience in Interior Design and Tenant Improvement projects.
  • Review consultant drawings and designs, highlight coordination items needing attention, and offer advice.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Control of tender and permit sets.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, including planning inquiries and building inspectors, when producing documentation for approval.
  • Administer contracts and project certifications as required.
  • Conduct periodic site reviews during the construction phase as needed.
  • Supervise trainee technologists and junior technical staff.

What you'll need to succeed

- Diploma in Architectural Technology or University Degree in Interior Design/Architecture or equivalent from an accredited post-secondary institution

- Minimum 5 years of experience in an Architecture/Interiors Office

- Strong abilities in AutoCAD.

- Strong communication and presentation skills (written and oral)

- Confident, efficient, collaborative and organized
