Our client, a respected construction firm specializing in delivering high-quality ICI projects, including long-term care facilities, water treatment plants, public schools, and other institutional, commercial, and industrial builds, is seeking a dedicated bilingual Site Superintendent in the Ottawa region. They are committed to superior craftsmanship, innovative solutions, and exceptional client satisfaction, with a project portfolio encompassing new construction, renovations, and fit-outs ranging from $5M to $100M.

Your new role

As a fluently bilingual Site Superintendent, you will be the on-site leader, responsible for the day-to-day execution and successful completion of your assigned projects. You will oversee all on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include coordinating trades, managing site logistics, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining accurate site documentation.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 5-10+ years of proven experience as a Site Superintendent on local new build long-term care, public/high-school, and similar complex ICI projects
  • A diploma or certificate in Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent field experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage subcontractors and maintain positive site relations
  • Expertise in on-site coordination, scheduling, and problem-solving
  • Thorough understanding of the Ontario Building Code, safety regulations (OHSA), and construction best practices
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
  • Ability to maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, progress photos, and safety documentation
  • A clear understanding of site safety, and the ability to conduct and enforce safety protocols
  • A clear criminal background history and ability to acquire and maintain government security clearance(s)
  • Mandatory bilingualism in both official languages is required for serious consideration
