Your new company

A well-known mining production company, operating in the US and Canada. Offices are based in the Downtown Vancouver area. Well-established and listed.

Your new role

· Financial Reporting:
· Prepare financial statements and consolidation (e.g ., income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
· Ensure compliance with US GAAP.
· Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures.
· Accounting Operations:
· Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and general ledger.
· Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
· Maintain and reconcile financial records, Manage the preparation and coordinate statutory tax filings on a
Timely basis.
· Staff Supervision and Development:
· Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
· Conduct performance evaluations and provide training.
· Compliance and Risk Management:
· Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and internal controls in accordance with SOX.
· Identify and mitigate financial risks. Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and their impact
On financial reporting.
· Coordinate and assist with external audits.
· Financial Analysis:
· Conduct variance analysis on a monthly basis
. Work closely with other departments and offices located in Canada, the USA and South America.
· Communicate financial information to management and other stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Professional Certifications: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent.
6+ years of experience in financial reporting for publicly listed companies, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role,
Preferably in the mining or resource industry.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g .,Quickbooks, NetSuite).
Good understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
