Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including routers (preferably Cisco), switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi access points, and cabling, with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and optimization. Regularly evaluate configurations to ensure scalability, security, and optimal performance.

  • Develop and enforce security frameworks to protect servers, PCs, websites, and SaaS platforms. Conduct regular audits, monitor for emerging threats, and apply necessary updates to maintain robust defences.
  • Manage building security systems, including surveillance cameras, card access controls, and alarms, ensuring their integration with IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Handle IT procurement and vendor management by negotiating contracts, purchasing equipment, and maintaining a comprehensive inventory to support organizational needs cost-effectively.
  • Providing comprehensive IT support, resolving hardware and software issues, troubleshooting connectivity problems, and creating tailored solutions to enhance productivity.
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and servers within VMware environments, employing redundancy systems and continuous monitoring to ensure reliable infrastructure performance.
  • Optimize network efficiency and security by managing VLAN configurations and maintaining best practices in network design.
  • Use tools such as SOTI and JAMF to manage mobile devices, enforce data protection policies, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Administer and support enterprise software solutions, including O365, Linux, Mac, Active Directory, Exchange, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD. Collaborate with departments to streamline workflows and improve software utilization.
  • Mentor and guide a small team, acting as a point of escalation for complex issues, while fostering a collaborative and supportive IT environment that prioritizes continuous learning and problem-solving.

Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated success in an IT Lead or Manager role, including overseeing and mentoring a team of direct reports.
  • In-depth expertise in network infrastructure, including routers, switches (preferably Cisco), firewalls, Wi-Fi APs, and cabling.
